932 W Randolph

Chicago, Illinois

Our long-time client L3 Capital asked us to reinvent the shell of a former bank building on the corner of Randolph and Sangamon into a mixed-use building designed to serve modern retail and office tenants.

The design utilizes expansive glass surfaces to take advantage of high ceilings and a new brick facade reminiscent of vintage industrial buildings in the neighborhood. We paid careful attention to each of the building’s faces and how they relate to the pedestrian experience from all angles. Each street elevation is treated uniquely with the northeast corner of the building serving as a modern glass lantern, identifying the office lobby.

Lastly, OKW refreshed the existing third floor roof terrace as an important component of the new design, whose use by adjacent tenants will further connect the building to activity on the street below.
